The Performance:

This story is set in a world fractured between being connected online and connecting in person. Two people share an office. They see each other every day, they’re online with each other everyday- but when they both decide that things need to change, it confronts how they communicate and the closeness of their relationship. This is not a love story.

This new contemporary theatre work is co imagined from the minds of an ensemble of community groups from all over South East Queensland. Together we are giving voice to the changing ways of communicating.

What is it designed to do?

Journey is designed to engage community groups in the Theatre creative process, to increase participants’ performance skills and increase regional centres access to Contemporary Theatre experiences. In doing so this contributes to a sense of self and community identity through participating in the process and through seeing and hearing theirs and others’ stories through Theatre.

It has received a Freshground creative development grant @ The Judith Wright Centre. Further funding was granted by RAF through Arts Qld and Community Partnerships from The Australia Council and RADF Redland Funds.

It also underwent development @ Metro Arts as part of 'FreeRange' Festival
